Hello and welcome to the first post of the Age Scotland blog; we are very pleased to have you here. As a charity there are a lot of topics, stories and campaigns that we want to tell you about and we felt that a blog would be a great place for them to live and breathe.
If you haven’t heard of us before, Age Scotland is Scotland’s leading voice on older people and ageing. The charity was born out of a merger between Age Concern Scotland and Help the Aged in Scotland. If you visit our website or “about us” section on the blog you can get lots of information about what we do.
We’re going to devote this blog to discussing things that affect older people around Scotland (and further afield). Age Scotland celebrates age and all its opportunities and challenges, so this blog will reflect this very important remit.
We plan on covering news stories about older people, things happening with the charity, policy and campaigning issues. We will post links, photos, videos and interviews; in short, anything to do with Scotland, older people and ageing goes!
Very importantly, we want to hear from you. If you have any comments, thoughts or ideas, please let us know. You can email us, reach us on Facebook or Twitter or leave feedback on this blog. We really look forward to hearing from you.
So, with this little introduction in hand, all that remains is for us to get blogging!
