Bonnets, deerstalkers and bowlers on for Wear A Hat Day

Wear a hat day

Mia, aged 9, decides what hat to wear

Age Scotland’s annual fundraiser, Wear A Hat Day, is nearly here. On 2 December, people from all over the country will don silly, sensible or downright stupendous head accessories to help raise money for older people.

Every year, thousands of people wear a hat on the day in exchange for a suggested donation of £2 to Age Scotland. Hats can be created, borrowed or bought and the day is always loads of fun.

Choosing hats

Too many hats to choose from...

We especially love Wear A Hat Day as it’s the perfect excuse to kick-start the festive season. Santa hats make their first appearance in the Age Scotland offices, along with a whole spectrum of head wear, from baseball caps to beanies to bowlers.

Fancy using your noggin to help older people this winter? Download our Wear A Hat Day fundraising pack, which is full of ideas and ways to get involved. If you want to register, call Alison Payne on 0845 833 9315 or send us an e-mail: wearahatday@agescotland.org.uk. We’d really love to hear from you!

Of course, if you’re taking part please do send us your photos and we’ll add them to Flickr and post some of the best ones here.

Have a hat-tastic Friday 2 December!
